Elves are an ancient species that came to be some time after the hatching. They are tall, have pointed ears, and are masters of magic.

Description

Elves are the most ancient race. They have mastered the arts of Magic and are able to use the spells of man. Elves are much taller than Dwarves and Gnomes, and possess an impressive affinity for magic. It is unknown if they sleep or not as there are claims they do not sleep, but meditate instead. However, these stories are uncorroborated and may be untrue, although Elves are able to fall into an unconscious state that resembles sleep. Elves bury their dead by sprinkling small amounts of dirt over the corpses [1].

Elven Culture

Elves do not view Goblins as their equals, and most will not refrain from killing Goblins almost immediately. Elves have been known to mix with other races as they even have a sub-race, Dwelf, through mating with Dwarves.

Elves took control of much of the land, with certain families rising to power in different regions with their own militaries and leaders. While these families may appear hostile to each other on the outside, they may rely on trading certain materials, such as Dragon Scales, in order to help each other survive. Even though some Elves view themselves higher than the other races, they have created treaties, such as The Ironstone Accords, to set out laws that treat, in this case, Elves and Dwarves the same.

Elven People

Dwelf

Dwelves are a sub-race of Dwarves and Elves that tend to associate more with Elves, and have more Elven traits. On the other hand, Dwelves are able to grow beards and facial hair, unlike most Elves who must use spells of bearding to achieve this. Dwelves aren't protected under treaties such as the Ironstone Accords which has caused problems for families such as the Gandolins, who are mostly Dwelves.

Noble Born

Due to the large number of Elven Families that have history spanning back to before the Birth of Magic, many wealthy families have become very posh and high in status. These Elves are considered noble, and many of them may be consuming Dragon Scales to sustain them so they can stay alive for so long.

Spellblade

Spellblades are an organization of Elves that rely on using both magic and weapons to achieve their goals.

Trivia

  • It was speculated that Elves are able to breed with Goblins to create Gobolfs. However, Rob has said that Elves and Goblins cannot mate, but would not go further into detail. Due to this, not much is known regarding how the Gobolfs came to be.
  • Elves are one of the oldest races in the Realms, along with High Bears and The Beenu Race.
  • Elves are the most reoccurring race so far, being either playable or present in most campaigns.
