Romulus is a Stonequisitor Kobold Monk, played by Deadbones in The Unseen Rogues and Kobold Headhunters.

Characteristics

Appearance

Romulus is a male Kobold with light brown fur, red eyes and a muscular figure. He wears a black sash around his upper body, loose fitting purple shorts with green twin stripes along the bottom. He has white wraps along his forearms and calfs. Most notably, he wears the Vampire Locket that he got from his grandfather; this locket directly links him to Neena Brando.

Personality

Romulus is dutiful and determined, and has a sombre and serious manner. He seems to have a need for a goal in his life. At the beginning of the Kobold Headhunters campaign, he intends to avenge his Granddaddy. At the end, when he has failed and is somewhat disillusioned by his Granddaddy's harsh words, he is reminded that he has a second granddaddy and decides to make finding him his quest.

Whatever else, Romulus has respect for his Granddaddy (the first one) and frequently quotes ancient proverbs, the meaning of which is then debated by the rest of the group.

Relationships

Romulus' Grandfather

Romulus' Nimbus is the spirit of his 'granddaddy'. Romulus is determined to avenged the death of his grandfather at the beginning of the Kobold Headhunters campaign, showing great devotion to him. However, when he gets the chance to communicate with the spirit of his grandfather, Romulus is scolded for having a mental link with a Dwarven female and for failing to exact revenge on Pitboss Omally, by failing to kill him. His grandfather says that Romulus disgusts him and resolves not to help his grandson anymore, and the nimbus floats away, into the sky. However, his grandfather's spirit doesn't seem to have left entirely, as whenever Romulus quotes his grandfather's famous proverbs, a voice from the sky tends to shout; 'I didn't say that!'

Neena Brando

Bonded by the Vampire Locket as partners who switch places at certain battles, and now know each other's entire life story, feelings, and emotions, due to the effects of the locket. This caused Romulus much discomfort.

Noxel & Kopie Ren

Romulus was very curious about the relationship the two had, unsure if it was brother-sister, mother-son, a couple or something else.

History

Kobold Headhunters

During Kobold Headhunters Romulus accompanied the head hunters in their quest to hunt a wolf. After Kobold Headhunters Romulus left the gang for his own purposes.

The Unseen Rogues

During the final battle against Omally in the Unseen Rogues it is seen that a Kobold came out of Neena Brando's Vampire Locket. It is implied that this Kobold was Romulus.

The Skeleton King

Romulus was seen during the first of Are'ani's Dreamweaver visions. He was seen having a conversation with an elder Kobold at Mount Karazeem about his departure from the monks in order to hunt down Neena Brando, who he is connected with through the Vampire Locket. He disavours his connection with the monks, and leaves the Mountain.

Fate

At the end of Kobold Headhunters, he wanders off to search for his other grandfather, as well as Neena Brando.

Trivia

• Following Deadbones' usual naming conventions, Romulus is also the name of a Marvel character, as well as the founder of Rome, but that is probably unrelated. [1]
• Romulus is implied to be the Kobold Monk that appeared from Neena's Vampire Locket in The Unseen Rogues.
• It can be assumed he looks similar to his Granddaddy, since Omally mistook him for his grandfather at the end of The Unseen Rogues. It is also possible that he resembles his father, as it was stated that Omally killed his parents in addition to his grandfather.
• Romulus was the original character to be featured on the Monk's cards in Seasons 2 and 3.
