The six Dragon Aspects represent the six schools of magic and are currently the strongest beings in the realms. Their power stems from their unique ability to cast "Creation Magic" by utilizing their two sets of vocal cords in unison. [Source: Spoken by Nisovin in Okagnoma Guild Hall]. Their children are apart of a race referred to as the Divine Beings.

The Sun Dragon Gods

The Dragon Aspects were all created as the offspring by the Sun Dragon Gods Kallisto and Phanto. These are massive Dragons, resembling celestial bodies. While alive, these dragons appear to be orange and red, with massive spikes along their body. While in orbit of the Realms, their intense size and color gives off the appearance akin to the Sun, illuminating the world beneath them. However, when Phanto perished, his body seem to harden in a curled up state. His once vibrant color scheme darkened to a cool blue, giving off the appearance and functionality of the Moon.

While both Sun Dragons where alive, they provided a single source of magic from their Light Creation magic. However, when Phanto died, this caused the event known as the Birth of Magic to occur. This created a spectrum of magical elements that each of the Six Dragon Aspects became attuned to, altering their capabilities.

The Dragon Aspects

The Dragon Aspects are six of the most powerful magical beings known in the Realms. Their appearance greatly differs from Dragon to Dragon, but they all seem to share a massive Dragon form that dwarfs any other known race. Through Aspects Golestandt and Quintara Lotus, we have seen that the Dragon Aspects can shapeshift into more humanoid forms, and have complete control over their forms.

Maelstrom

Maelstrom is the first known mortal being to begin ascending to the level of that of a Sun Dragon God. However it is unknown how many stages Maelstrom will ascend before becoming a Sun Dragon God. As of The Sandbolds is retains the first for as a Whelpling-Kobold hybrid, with no affinity for a specific set of magic nor any shapeshifting capabilities seen in the Dragon Aspects as of yet. His transformation was given to him from the Old Gods and set him on the path of a Sun Dragon God.

History

The Sun Dragon Gods Phanto and Kallisto created The Realms, as well as Elves, Highbears, the other dragon aspects, and other lesser races in an event known as The Great Hatching. In this time all Dragons were those of Light, and all of the Dragons flew in the Sky with their parents. There was no Death or Pain in the Realm for the Elves and Highbears, as they were each being protected by one of the Sun Dragon Gods, granting them immortality. That is until a mysterious event occurred and the Sun Dragon God Phanto died. Phanto's body grew dark and became the Moon. Phanto's death also caused the six Dragon Aspects to each align themselves with one of the six magics each.

Golestandt, the Dragon Aspect of Dark, went completely feral and lost his mind after the death of Phanto. Golestandt does not actively attempt to interact with the mortals of the Realm, but his mere existence causes pain and misery. From time to time, he would rest and the Elves would hide him in man-made mountains so that they can mine his scales to consume them and retain their youth. After he awakened from his slumber in The Silvermine Mountains, he went on a rampage that turned those caught in his way into Lost Souls.

Quintara Lotus, the Dragon Aspect of Arcane, fell in love with the mortals of the realm, and especially the Magics they could wield. In order to engage with the most powerful mortals with the most powerful of Magics, she created The Tower of Ultimate Wizardry, an ultimate tower for the bravest of Mages to test their wits and skills. If they reach the top, they add their own floor to the tower and have one wish granted from Quintara herself. Due to her fascination with the inhabitants of the Realms, most specifically the Elves, Quintara often took on the shape of an Elf, and sat at their councils herself, so she could involve herself in their politics. The Silvermine Mountains

It is revealed that the "silver" the Elves have been eating to lengthen their lives are the scales of Golestandt. The mining of the mountain is an attempt to weaken the beast within. The Ageless One awoke and escaped from his prison in the Silvermine Mountains and flew off into the world, destroying the Mountain in his wake.

Woodcarvers

After having escaped from the Silvermine Mountains, Golestandt went around breathing death and destruction wherever he went. One of the locations he destroyed was the small Dwarven village of Waldon. His Dragon Breath not only destroyed the town, but converted all the people in it and around it into mindless Ageless. He continued to fly onwards after destroying the town.

The Senate of Deadlantis

Golestandt is seen arriving and partying at Louis Tarcial'Embeart's ascension party, and even sings the 'Song of Dragons' to end her celebrations. Later, Phanto dies due to the Old Gods' interventions, causing the Birth of Magic
