Whelplings are spawns of the Dragon Aspect Vlaurunga, they are unintelligent infantile dragons that cannot cast magic other than the raw natural fire they breath. They are not considered Divine Beings as in order to be Divine they must have a Sigil of Flame imprinted on their chest by Vlaurunga.

Characteristics

Appearance

Whelplings have the appearance of a full size Red Dragon, and are about the size of a small Dwarven Keep.

Personality

Whelplings due to being of a young age act feral similar to Golestandt, attacking and breathing fire on anything they see.


Powers & Abilities

Passives

  • Whelpling: Whelplings have access to Fierce Talons, Tail Swipe, Dragon Fire, Feast, Bellowing Roar, and Enrage cards. Whelplings Basic Attacks deal 30 damage and force Death Rolls. Whelplings have unlimited move actions. Whelplings are extremely resistant to Abilities that interfere with their actions and are immune to the element of Fire.

Abilities

  • Fierce Talons: Slash a Target with your Talons interrupting whatever Action they were trying to use and dealing 25 damage.
  • Tail Swipe: Swipe the Area behind you with your massive tail dealing 20 Damage to all Targets and knocking them in a direction of your choice up to 10 spaces.
  • Dragon Fire: Deals 99 Damage in a Line. Players who use Anytime abilities to dodge or avoid damage must roll higher than normal to be successful.
  • Feast: Swallow an Unconscious Target causing them to Death Roll. Restore 100 Stamina anytime you successfully consume a Target with this Ability.
  • Bellowing Roar: Whenever you take more than 100 damage in a single round of combat, let out a bellowing roar that drain all the Players remaining Actions.
  • Enrage: While you are below half Stamina, you start every round with a Chaos Action and all of your Abilities become Dual Actions.
  • Dragonrage: Glare at a Target once per round causing 40 Damage and causing them to be Anti-Party. This ability prefers Non Player Targets.

History

Background

Many would confuse a Whelpling as a full size Red Dragon as even the smallest of Whelplings are often the the size of a small Dwarven keep. While Whelplings can vary in both size and strength, what separates them from Dragons is there intelligence. Younger Whelplings cannot communicate with others and most cannot use magic other than the raw natural fire they breath. Although they are born from eggs laid by Vlaurunga herself, they do not become Divine unless a Sigil of Flame is imprinted on their chests by the great Dragon Aspect herself. Only the chosen few from her brood are selected to become part of her convocation and it is only in which these Dragons are finally given names.
