• Being "rebuilt" numerous times by Thor has allowed Bernard to develop an ability to rebuild himself, as long as pieces of him still exist (a la Iron Giant). In The Lightbeards, his nose was established to be sufficient to provide this ability.
• When rebuilt, Bernard does not retain the memories of his former self.
• Bernard's name, when abbreviated B. W. Akers, is most likely a form of word play on the name "Bruce Willakers".
