Characteristics
Personality
Donkeys often continue doing the same thing over and over regardless of how well it works. When in danger, donkeys play dead to avoid being killed.
Abilities
Passives
- Companion Donkey: Donkeys are slow and heavy Companions for combat. They are decent mounts that are able to carry very heavy loads. Donkey's have access to the Bite, Ride, and Moan Companion abilities.
Abilities
- Bite: Dart forward up to 3 spaces and attack for 3 damage. If this attack does not miss, you gain an Immediate Bonus Action to use on another Companion Skill other than Bite.
- Ride: Allow another Target to ride on your back. While being rode, you may move up to 7 spaces each turn and may intercept attacks and spells on behalf of the rider.
- Moan: Moan out in pain or pleasure which can distract Targets and interrupt attacks and abilities.
The Donkey Tradition
As is tradition in Tournament's all around the Realm, the crowd throws a Donkey at the combatants. If two or more Donkey's are thrown, the crowd may cheer BONUS ROUND to begin a bonus round of Donkey's in which case please refer to the official Donkey Tradition handbook for how to proceed. If this event does not trigger, the Donkey in who would be thrown shall be taken out back and shot unless said Donkey was born on a Tuesday or Thursday in which case it shall be drowned. For any other Donkey Tradition related inquiries please contact your local Elven head state representative.
History
The peddler just outside the city was seen to have a donkey. As Jameson Blant and his group talked to the peddler, he went into his stall to retrieve some items to give to them. As this happened, Slap tried to mount the donkey. However, unable to get on its back from the ground, he decided to use his Rocket Boots to boost himself up into the air. However, unaware of the power of his boots, he ended up crushing the donkey. Jimmy attempted to help by calling Patrick Cake, but it ended up backfiring as Patrick decided to use his Nova Plume Staff on the donkey, killing it. Jimmy then asked Chip Chop to dispose of the body using Tosser, however, this also backfired, as he ripped the donkey's head straight off its body.
A donkey was encountered by Virgo Sunsword and his group while exploring an Elven village that had its citizens mysteriously go missing. When the party approached it, it started making a lot of noise, leading to Tennís to attempt to calm it down. He did so successfully, but it fled when Virgo attacked and killed a stray dog.
During the tournament, the Royals on the balcony threw Donkeys into the hall as is tradition during a tournament. The Donkey landed on Ghana Ens Sin and knocked him unconscious. The Donkey was later ridden by Dai who attacked Galen Sunsword with it which pleased the crowd. Galen later killed it with his hammer after he toppled it over making it protect Dai.
Non-Canon
In the middle of a fight against a group of Kobolds, Dankie was knocked unconscious. Then, a donkey named Don was thrown into the stadium, landing on Dankie, killing him. Don aided the Goblins in their fights in the arena, but was mind-controlled by the Medusa Heatherfol Threecircle. He was then forced to fight against his Goblin friends, but when Heatherfol was defeated and the mind control broken, Don was once again freed, and became the new owner of the arena.
Notable Examples
Trivia
- Donkeys are often treated badly by Goblins.
- Donkeys' abilities were improvised to give Coe something to do after his character died in The Many Gobos of Pat.
- Don was brought on by a Supporter Event.
- He was originally intended to be a pet for Dankie, who could also be ridden, but would deal damage to him upon the event activating, by landing on him. However, as Dankie was already unconscious when the event activated, he ended up being killed by Don.
