Golestandt, also known as The Ageless One is a Divine Being introduced in the Silvermine Mountains campaign. He is a Dragon, and the Divine Aspect of Death. Much of this creature remains unknown unknown.

History

Many Years ago, Virgo Sunsword did battle with the Cult of Bones and their deity, Golestandt. Although the Cultists, being the Ageless, were nearly unkillable, Virgo found a way to defeat and kill off many of them. He also found a way to defeat the Ageless One, and force him into a prolonged slumber. Where the Ageless One slept, Virgo ordered the construction of Mountains on top of it. These mountains became the Silvermine Mountains.

The Silvermine Mountains

It is revealed that the "silver" the Elves have been eating to lengthen their lives is the skin of the Dragon. The mining of the mountain is an attempt to weaken the beast within. The Ageless One was released from his prison in the Silvermine Mountains, by a group of criminals led by the Cultist Khn'n-Rell, and flew off into the world, destroying the Mountain in his wake.

Woodcarvers

After having been freed from the Silvermine Mountains, the Ageless One went around casting death and destruction wherever he went. One of the locations he destroyed was the small Dwarven village of Waldon. His Dragon Breath not only destroyed the Town, but converted all the people in it and around it into mindless Ageless. He immediately fled after destroying the town.

Affiliations

While the Cult of Bones worships the being as a deity, it is unknown whether it obeys them or is merely a mindless beast.

Trivia

• Golestandt is the first canon Dragon in Unforgotten Realms Live.
• Golestandt and Colin the Behemoth may be somehow related, due to The Cult of Bones worshiping and/or revering both of them.
• The Ageless One has a powerful silver on his body. Consuming this silver, after it goes through an unknown process, makes a person ageless. Rich and powerful Elves, such as those in the Sunsword Family, are the ones who mostly consume this metal.
• The storyline Silvermine Mountain campaign was voted on by fans, and the winning storyline introduced the Ageless One.
  • If another storyline would have been picked instead of The Silvermine Mountains, the "wall" consisting of scales of The Ageless One would instead be portrayed as a poorly designed wall.
