After The Great Hatching, The Realms were a Utopia for the Elves and Highbears as they were each being protected by one of the Sun Dragon Gods, granting them immortality, and immunity to physical pain. During this time, fewer races existed than there are currently, with some of the main races existing being Elves, Highbears, Beenu, the six Dragon Aspects, and wild, unintelligent Kobolds, to name a few. However, the Old Gods intervened, causing Phanto the Sun Dragon God to crystallise and die, becoming the Moon. This created the Birth of Magic, and caused the Elves to lose their immortality, and feel pain for the first time. Many Elves quickly learned that they could be hurt, and some Elven cities turned to anarchy as they attacked each other with their now deadly spells. Mermaids also began to use their magics to drain the life out of the now vulnerable Elves, creating the first Ageless.

According to Professor Spydly Spyderson of the Okagnoma Guild Hall, the six Dragon Aspects then each attuned with one of the six magical elements, and then some of their Divine Children began to create new races, such as Thor creating Dwarves, intelligent Kobolds, Forn and Shellmind.

According to The Beenu Apparition, the Beenu race then began to slowly die out, as they had no way to reproduce.
