Goblins are small creatures first seen in Porc Hunters. They are introduced when Roamin runs to hide behind a bridge and one crawls out to start the second encounter early. They are the only race to be universally hated and despised by all the other races.

History

The Emerald Lake Bridge Encounter

This encounter was nearly preemptively started when Templeton Barringster, attempted to hide behind a bridge, and a Goblin named Justin crawled out to try to initiate the encounter, but was swiftly pushed back into the water. Later when the campaign continued to the point of this encounter, the party started to verbally and physically abuse the Goblin. He then threw a smoke bomb and stole several of the crews treasures:

Elmar did not lose any items due to falling into water out of pure laughter. After Ca-Rell scarred him for life with a flare, he fell into the water and sunk down to the bottom, drowning to death. While fighting The Whisper Snake of Emerald Lake DeNada retrieved their items, but kept them to himself for the time being. Further into the encounter the goblin reinforcements began to attack, only to be eradicated shortly after.

The party in The Many Gobos of Pat was comprised entirely by Goblins giving us our first look at what they can do. This campaign had four Greenskin Goblins and two hobgoblins giving a fair look at the skills and abilities of both sub races.
For more information about what these goblins did, check here.

A pair of Goblin merchants approach Gwyneth's prisoner escort crew to display their merchandise for sale. In keeping with tradition, the Elves violently assault the Goblins, killing one and imprisoning the other. Later, when Phineas Barringster temporarily takes over the Sunswords, he demands Bob the Gnome kill the remaining Goblin. Bob instead simply releases the Goblin known as Greeky.

Mt. Kobold Goblin Bandit

It is mentioned in this campaign that there are no Goblins within the prison because every one apprehended is killed by the Elves. However, Shaneil, a Gobolf, was the cellmate of Rusty in the prison.

Race Cards

Card Name Ability Description Image
Goblin Pure Greed Instead of buying items outright, Goblins can roll to attempt to steal an item instead. If they roll higher than the Game Master, they do not have to pay the gold cost for items they are trying to buy. If the attempt to steal fails, the player loses one maximum stamina. Trivia

  • Goblins can sense fear. [1]
  • Goblins are bad at rolling, that's the meta. Really they are just bad. [2]
  • Goblins are known to have 3 kidneys. [3]
  • There is a 3rd group of Goblins known as Gobolfs [4]. The only things known about them is that they're Half-Goblin, 2/3rds Elf, and that they die on Critical Hits when below half stamina.
    • Rob had confirmed that Gobolfs' will be a playable Sub-race the next time the group plays as Goblins in Kobold Headhunters. [5] However, Rob has decided against having Gobolf's be playable. Instead, the third Sub-race of Goblins is Elders.
    • Gobolfs may also not actually be half-Goblin, half-Elven hybrids. [6]
  • Goblins are the most despised race in all of Unforgotten Realms. Everyone hates them, especially the Elves.
    • The Only Race that, so far, tolerates Goblins are Gnomes.
    • Shaneil the Gobolf was one of the Prisoner's of the Silvermine Mountains. This may mean that Elves view Gobolfs as People, and thus could Tolerate them.
  • Asthma is really common in Goblins
  • Elfs and Porcs think Goblin are delicious to eat.
  • Goblins are not allowed to be a part of the Tambok's Special Friend Show.
    • Terrence and Warren, originally put into the Tambok Show, have since been removed from the Show.
