Medusa is a gorgon who once took over the Paladin Order with her ability of mind-control during The Many Gobos of Pat campaign, trying to end the lives of all the goblin siblings and inheriting their father Pat's abilities and presence.

History

The first known encounter with Medusa is in The Many Gobos of Pat campaign. In this campaign she takes on the form of a female elf and pretends to be Pattenborrow Threecircle's daughter Heatherfol. The heroes of the campaign talked with her before the second arena combat where she expresses her hatred for goblins and that she did not believe that the group lived with Pattenborrow because he hated goblins.

Later, she is pitted against the goblins in the arena, but instead plays as their ally in an attempt to get Pattenburrow's Necklace. Willis said the goblins were adopted by Pattenborrow and so she believed they lived with him. She even goes so far as to use Divine Intervention to aid the heroes. However when Desnuttes breaks Pattenborrow's Necklace and releases Pattenborrow's spirit into himself she is infuriated and reveals her true form of Medusa. She mind controls all the dwarves in the arena and Don to fight for her and kill the goblins. Throughout the combat the heroes damage her and her paladin army heals her. Though eventually, she is defeated by Terrence using Golden Shot.

Abilities

Mind Control

Medusa can bend the mind of any being that is not resistant to mind control to her will, permenantly. There appears to be no limit to the number of being she can control at any one time. Goblins are immune due to their telepathic powers. Elves are immune due to their affinity with magic.

Disguise

Medusa can flawlessly change her appearance and size without having to change her voice. This is a much more powerful version of the Bard class's Disguise ability.

Spit

Medusa attack several times but every time she misses. This attack does nothing. It is literally her just spitting on her foes.

Slash

It is thought that this is simply a basic melee attack of some sort though.

Notable Examples

Heatherfol Threecircle is a disguise of Pattenborrow Threecircle's daughter put on in order to steal Pattenborrow's Necklace so that she could become even more powerful. But this Medusa was killed by Terrence using Golden Shot at the conclusion of the The Many Gobos of Pat campaign.

Trivia

• Whilst Medusa is in the form of Heatherfol Threecircle she has 30 less stamina at a base of 50.
• Medusa's stamina was accidentally announced to the heroes through group Skype chat as 50 stamina. Rob later said this stamina value was incorrect due to him not changing it from Heatherfol Threecircle's stamina.
• Although Medusa's stamina is never explicitly mentioned it can be deduced that she has 80 stamina from various hints including Rob saying that she has 75% stamina when it can be calculated that she has taken 20 damage, Rob saying that when it can be calculated she has taken 46 damage that she is only half herself and that finally when she dies she has taken 87 stamina, having had 81 stamina taken prior to her killing blow, though if you watch the VOD it is clear that Rob fudged it for dramatic effect.
