Since starting the wiki, it has grown a lot and its clear we need set rules to ensure the quality of the wiki is maintained. This page is a general guideline to follow whilst posting to the wiki. It also serves as a guide to moderators so they can help the wiki become better.

Do not vandalise
Editing
Feel free to contribute! You are allowed to contribute to almost every page on the wiki! Other than a few protected pages (like this one) all pages are open to contribution from users.

To get the easy ones out of the way, this one is pretty blatant. No vandalising the wiki, that means no edits with the intent of deleting truthful information or generally spamming wiki pages.
Reverting
Reverting is a little too powerful sometimes. Don't succumb to the temptation, unless you're reverting very obvious vandalism. If you really can't stand something, revert once, with an edit summary something like "I disagree strongly, I'll explain why in talk." and immediately take it to the Discussion tab for the page in the top left hand corner.

Do not post fan fiction/lore
Deleting content
As a good rule of thumb, any content you delete off a page you should make sure is presented somewhere else or in another format. If an entire page seems unnecessary you can message one of our Moderators and they can delete it if appropriate.

We'd like to keep the wiki clean of any fan lore etc. Whilst fan art (with author permission) is okay to post in their relevant sections, for the purpose of ensuring the wiki is accurate so that Rob can use the information in future campaigns if need be, we need to ensure the content is kept accurate.
Vandalization
Do not vandalize the wiki. In other words, no edits with the intent of deleting truthful information or generally spamming wiki pages.

Do not post fan made cards to the wiki
Discussion
Each page has a discussion tab in the top left hand corner of the screen. If you have a problem with some part of the page or would like to discuss its content feel free to create a topic on these pages. Please use the appropriate Talk page for each subject.

As stated above, fan made content (apart from fan art) should not belong on the wiki. Cards, whilst can be built on the wiki, should not be uploaded here and instead should be posted in the revelevant stickied thread at http://www.reddit.com/r/BuffaloWizards
Addressing Other Users
Do not attack other users. Do not call them an "idiot" even if it feels justified. Instead, explain what they did wrong, why it is wrong, and how to fix it. If possible, fix it yourself. However, if necessary, you can contact a moderator and they will help sort it out.

Do post fan art when in the applicable spaces
Ideas
The URealms Live wiki is not the best place to share new ideas or theories as its goal is to record official lore. If you have an idea and want to share it, share it on the forums.

You may post fan art in the applicable sections providing you are either the creator or you have permission from the author.
Canon
It is important to keep in mind that unless we see something happen in a campaign, it is conjecture and not officially canon. If you have a question about whether something said is canon or not please feel free to ask a moderator.

Do not redirect the pages listed on the MediaWiki:Pages_To_Not_Redirect page
Characters
If a character say information about another race, it will be considered non-canon until we see that of what the character has commented on.

Mainly for moderators of the wiki, however certain pages must not be redirected due to them tieing in with widgets on the wiki. If they get redirected they will cause those widgets to no longer function and as such any redirection that is required should be posted to the Admin_ToDo.
Out of Urealms
In addition, anything said or shown in Behind the Scene videos or any of the other player's streams about what was intended for past campaigns or what we might see in the possible future is also not canon.

Conflicting Canon
If something said or done seems to conflict with pre-established canon, please do not bother the players or Rob, about it. Due to the very nature of URealms Live things can change quickly and are often made up on the spot. As Rob has pointed out, basically any continuity can be explained away with "A Wizard did it". Please keep this in mind and don't argue with the Game Master.

Fan Fiction
We'd like to keep the wiki clean of any fan lore for the purpose of ensuring the wiki is accurate so that Rob can use the information in future campaigns if need be, so we need to ensure the content is kept accurate. If you want to share your fan stories, you can post it in the correct section on the forums.

Fan Art
Fan Art, while highly encouraged, is not allowed to be posted onto the wiki, in order to keep all art and images official. If you have drawn, or want to draw fan art, you can post it on social media, or on the forums.

Fan Made Cards
If you have created cards and want to share them, it is recommend to upload them to an image sharing site such as Imgur, and then posting them on the forums.

Templates
We have a bunch of great Templates made by our users to help in the creation and modification of pages. Here's a list of some of them:
* Template:Characterbox for Player Characters, NPCs, and Companions. For an example on what an entire Character page should look like check out Character Page Sample

This is a list of rules for the wiki as decided upon by the active Moderators and Administrator. This is very much a work in progress. If you have any suggestions for new rules please submit them in the Discussion Tab.

This page is a general guideline to follow whilst posting to the wiki. It also serves as a guide to moderators so they can help the wiki become better. It is important to note that exceptions can be made to these rules if it generally makes sense. Common sense will always prevail over mindless deletion/banning. If you have a problem with one of these rules feel free to contact one of our Moderators: You can check the list of all current moderators here.

Editing

Feel free to contribute! You are allowed to contribute to almost every page on the wiki! Other than a few protected pages (like this one) all pages are open to contribution from users.

Deleting content

As a good rule of thumb, any content you delete off a page you should make sure is presented somewhere else or in another format. If an entire page seems unnecessary you can message one of our Moderators and they can delete it if appropriate.

Vandalization

Do not vandalize the wiki. In other words, no edits with the intent of deleting truthful information or generally spamming wiki pages.

Discussion

Each page has a discussion tab in the top left hand corner of the screen. If you have a problem with some part of the page or would like to discuss its content feel free to create a topic on these pages. Please use the appropriate Talk page for each subject.

Addressing Other Users

Do not attack other users. Do not call them an "idiot" even if it feels justified. Instead, explain what they did wrong, why it is wrong, and how to fix it. If possible, fix it yourself. However, if necessary, you can contact a moderator and they will help sort it out.

Ideas

The URealms Live wiki is not the best place to share new ideas or theories as its goal is to record official lore. If you have an idea and want to share it, share it on the forums.

Canon

It is important to keep in mind that unless we see something happen in a campaign, it is conjecture and not officially canon. If you have a question about whether something said is canon or not please feel free to ask a moderator.

Characters

If a character say information about another race, it will be considered non-canon until we see that of what the character has commented on.
