20th June Lore Building Stream
Just a suggestion since its been established that todays events on the stream are not cannon (yet), we could still keep a page for the stream with information gathered during it. Just as a reference ~~ Plornt (Ask an Administrator) 15:10, 20 June 2015 (EDT)
Character Page Layout
Hey guys, a few days ago Skydivizer made a suggestion to clean up the Character Pages to adhere to a unified and simpler "template"/style, because right now we've got different styles for the character pages from the Nuren campaign, RBoT, Porc Hunters and Dingo Isles. I recommend you check out his proposal, because I would like to have some more feedback about. Personally I find it better than what we've got now (because do we really need to list their race and class again when that's already in the charbox and the short description up above, and do we really need to say what Charge or Parry does on every users character page while there's a link to the ability -once again- in the charbox?). I just want to hear what you guys think about this. --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 10:45, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
- I think it's pretty good. I also think having the race and class reiterated a second/third time on the page is unnecessary especially since it's usually in the first line and the charbox. I think the reason we were putting the description of each ability on every page was because we started doing that before the anchors were in place to let us link directly to ability itself and not just the class page and we just didn't stop after we got the anchors. However, I think the belongings are good the way they are currently with a category for Items, Treasures, and RP Item since that information may need to be more detailed for characters who gain and destroy/loose a lot of treasure over the course of a campaign like Jo Krisstal. I think we should keep the final stats of the characters, like their items and how much stamina they can have in the charbox while information regarding on how those stats changed throughout the campaign should be on the page itself. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Moderator) 11:14, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
- I personally would only list gear that was received/changed after the campaign started (Kinney's Studded armor, Kinney's Freeboot coat's), 'Artefact' Treasures (Winechesters Finest, McCoy's Behemoth Arm, Lieutenant Surge,...) and the Accessories, because those have some Role-Play value eg. McCoy's Compasses or other items that have some RP-relation (Merci's Porc Skin Armor), since the starting gear usually isn't that interesting (Flintlock pistol, cutlass,...). What I'm saying is I would only list special or interesting items/treasures/accesories/belongings. --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 12:17, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
- We should take a look at Rob comments and re-evaluate what we need and not need. Maybe we can make Character Page Sample or something? --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 04:01, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

Spoilers
This is pretty minor, but can we agree to only mark pages about the most recent campaign as spoilers? I don't want to over use it so people who are new to the series are afraid to read pages about previous campaigns. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Moderator) 11:26, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
- Yeah, I was going to post a topic about this pretty soon as well, I don't really like the way the spoiler template was used so randomly around here. I agree that only pages about the most recent campaign should have a spoiler tag, but I would limit it to the campaign page, character pages and location pages. For example, Pot puppies and Glamour shark don't need this template in my opinion, because really the only way you'd get there is by following links on the afore mentioned pages. --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 12:10, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
- I agree. Race, Class, and Card pages should never be marked as spoilers. Basically if it's under "The Game" on the sidebar it shouldn't be marked as a spoiler. If everyone agrees I'll add it to Wiki Rules --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 13:27, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
- I agree as well. New Characters and Campaigns should be marked with a spoiler tag. But as soon as Friday comes with character creation and the Behind the Scenes, they should be removed. --Clark (Chitter Chat) 23:13, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

List of Minor Characters
As it stands now, we have a page for every character mentioned on the show. I propose we make a page for a list of minor characters that were ONLY mentioned. Such as McCoy's 'Grandfather' Ethan and Mike Jackson (I take blame for that one). What I suggest is that these minor characters should be moved to one page, like the List of Organizations page. This will reduce clutter as the show expands to mention more and more characters we never see as the weeks go on.--Clark (Chitter Chat) 23:17, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
- Sounds like a good idea. I think it should only be for characters who are mentioned but never seen, like the examples above. I think they should be sorted by campaign unlike the List of Organizations. The List of Organizations is already a bit cluttered and I feel like a few of the things on that page already don't belong. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 23:45, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
- Like what exactly? Note that I purely created that page from inspiration for the Super Mario wiki, which has a similar page. So I am all for changing how it is to fit our style, or rather make our style. We should treat both the List of Organizations and List of Minor Characters the same way, that way there is a sense of unity. If that makes sense. So what are your suggestions?--Clark (Chitter Chat) 23:54, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
- A few "Organizations" could use their own page. While we have relatively little information about organizations like the Cult of Bones, Bopen's army, the George clan, and Gwyneth's Sunblades, we have very clear information about groups like the Theta Squad, the crew of the Bocoe, and Yumi's Theives. Each of those groups could have their own pages detailing former and current members, history, battles, etc. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 00:41, 16 June 2015 (EDT)
- I can see that, yeah. Groups that the guys make should be their own page. I'll get to work on them when I have the time!--Clark (Chitter Chat) 00:50, 16 June 2015 (EDT)
- I agree with you guys. A List of Minor Characters and giving the 'major' groups their own page seems like a good idea. Perhaps I'll work on it once I've finished expanding a couple of the pages we've got now. --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 03:43, 16 June 2015 (EDT)
- Rob has just confirmed the RadioactiveK's artwork of the character is official so we can use those for the groups. I can make a template for the group pages. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 04:04, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
Rob's comments
Rob recently left some comments on the wiki. Here they are:
- Layout
- What I mean is you are making a distinction that doesn't need to be made. NPC and enemies are fundamentally the same thing, you're just decided what is what. I'm not sure you need to even list "Skeleton" on this page, because you just create a lot of extra pages to link too under characters. When people click characters, they want to see both the players and named NPC characters that have backstory, not just the general list of characters/races that were included. It will also be weird when you have a character in one campaign who is an enemy and in the next is an NPC. Right now the distinction is who was in battle which ends up almost being a list of combat encounters. I think it would be better to just make a completely separate "Encounters" page if you really wanted to have that. Like what are you going to do when I have them fight at a Zoo and they fight a big battle with 30 different enemies at once? List them all? I think you don't make a distinction between Enemy and NPC and put all "notable" NPCs, generally ones with names, in the NPC list. Basically characters that could be reoccuring. Then just remove "Goblins" "Porcs". If they aren't noteable to be listed under NPC, then they end up just being pages that get in the way of what people will be using the "characters" page for. For example, Whirlwind Brothers has their own character page when they have nothing notable about them other then you know they are Kobold and Brothers, but they aren't listed here. Yet Skeletons are? Eaglebear is on the list for some reason? There was an eaglebear in Roamin's Band of Thieves, but it's not listed because they don't fight it. I dunno just seems like two different things going on at once and detracts what the character page would be. You're already going to have indexing issues down the road with 4-8 noteable characters being created potentially each week just at character creation. Rob (talk) 02:00, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- Stamina
- Until it has cards, it shouldn't be listed as a class imo, even more so when it's just an NPC "class". How do you tell the difference on what's used a Title and what's a class then? Seer is a bit weird since Deadbones "created" it, but I would keep that information on Blinkys character page that he was a class built up of other classes. I'll avoid using Seer for the near future. Rob (talk) 02:05, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- I think you should leave this because I can tell you now that unless there is a DIRECT link that one event takes place after the other, it's up in the air. Week 2 had a direct link and Week 3 had a lucky direct link that without could have easily gone anywhere. Since this is something we don't plan on fitting, it would helpful for fans to work on figuring out the timeline for us to naturally adopt unless we have some other plan. Rob (talk) 01:31, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- Guests
- Can you guys downplay guests on the front page and in general articles? While guests may be part of URL's past and future, they are such a small part that I don't think it's important for the front page. I don't want to give people the impression they are something we really do a whole lot when it's not something we plan on doing much at all in the near future. Rob (talk) 01:26, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- Official Character Artwork
- I have brought RadioactiveK on board to do the official artwork we plan on using for the website, so for your character profiles, you'll want to look to using her sketches until we have a good way to pass down the final products to you guys. For reference these are the portraits for week 1/2. She will be doing character artwork for the Nuren campaign down the road as well so we have it for everything cannon. http://i.imgur.com/UKHXIO3.png http://i.imgur.com/bFMvwH7.png Rob (talk) 01:36, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- Hey guys, I just uploaded RadioactiveK's artwork cropped and cleaned for all characters from RBoT and PH. Is it fine to update the character pages with these images? --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 07:33, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- Fine by me. The only issue might be how the background looks on the charbox background. But I think we can add a 1px border to the image from the template. Skydivizer (talk) 07:45, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- This is more a question for Plornt I guess but, would it be possible to have multiple pictures of the characters that you can tab back and forth between? The Ben 10 Wiki has a set up on the charbox so you can flip between the various looks of the characters from the different series. If we could implement something like this I'd love to have both their puppet pals version and RadioactiveK's version displayed with the ability to flip back and forth between them. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 11:08, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- That would be the Tabber extension. There is also a cleaner version called Tabs, but that requires a bit more work; however, either one can be used to compress a few pages down (and make them easier to view for the average joe). --Tdis8629 (Message me) 11:27, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- Thanks. Personally while I love RadioactiveK's work I think if we only used their designs for the character pages it would be confusing for people unfamiliar with the characters since that's not how they are presented in the campaign itself. I'd prefer to have the Puppet Pals version of the character as the default and have a tab to see the official character artwork. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 12:42, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

- Character Abilities
- http://i.imgur.com/7xdIFkm.png
- I feel like it would be better if you had a way to show a characters class abilities by a thumbnail that linked to the character class page. I know that as time goes on, the cards won't always reflect with what the abilities could do at the time, but I'm not sure that fundamentally matters and is a small nuance. To me, you could make characters much more attractive with small versions of the cards that hotlink to the class page they are associated with. Rob (talk)
- Just made a message on the Admin ToDo. What I was thinking was having something like this: http://i.imgur.com/0Oixz2V.png
- Obviously can make it more polished but like we have it so when you click on the card thumbnail it enlarges it etc. Might be cool to have icons for each different class too. Of course this would mean, to minimize content repetition we'd have to sort out a unified way of attaching meta data to cards, ie description, title and all that, possibly have a set out structure on the File page which it can then pull from and update the information. This would have the added benefit of making it easier to add new cards in the future as we could just update the card file and have it propagate to the relevant sections on the wiki (ie upload a treasure card -> auto gets added to treasures). It's definitely doable but just needs more information on how we should go about implementing this. ~~ Plornt (Ask an Administrator) 05:53, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- Yeah, when I was uploading the new images for this week I thought: "Wouldn't it be possible to add the description to the file page and pull that into the templates?" Well, we do have the extension ParserFunctions, which I used to create the optional fields in templates. Perhaps with this it would be possible to do so. --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 07:00, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
- I mean if its not possible to do with our current extension set, I can code up a custom way of doing it for us. I dont think it would be possible without having to edit some sort of template somewhere, and then trying to load that description where we want it in the page would be a nightmare for site speed (as it would pull down the same template - causing database calls - and then for each different section that we want ie card name, card description, card gems would cause that same db call for each). Just trying to think of a way of pulling out segments of information from each card page without slowing the site down ~~ Plornt (Ask an Administrator) 07:15, 17 June 2015 (EDT)

Merchandises
I had a thought during this week's (Dingo Isles) Behind the Scenes, should we have a page/pages for merchandises that the Wizards sell/offer for free? Like The Blunderbros Shirt (which I need to find an image of), the new digital comic when it comes out, and such like that. What do you guys' think about that idea? If its a yeah, how are we going to format it? Several pages or a single listed page? The Halopedia wiki is a good example of the Several pages and the Transformers wiki I think is a good example of the Single listed page.--Clark (Chitter Chat) 13:39, 19 June 2015 (EDT)
- At the moment there's not much merchandise, but I'm not apposed to a merchandise page. Since the merchandise is a relatively small part of URelams if we do have something I think it should be a single list page page. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 11:31, 20 June 2015 (EDT)
- Well, I half expect a lot of merchandise in the future, so I am just preemptively planning. --Clark (Chitter Chat) 14:46, 20 June 2015 (EDT)
Pets and Sprites
At the moment we have individual pages for each of the Sprites, however there doesn't seem to really be enough information for each to fill out a whole page. I think we should just create a list of "Pets" like the List of Organizations and List of Minor Characters for Ice Lords, Earth Lords, Air Sprites, etc. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 11:31, 20 June 2015 (EDT)
- I don't think it should be Pets. They can also be enemies, so I think a page called 'Elemental Spirits' might be better. --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 11:42, 20 June 2015 (EDT)
- A single page for Elemental Spirits sounds best, Pets would be best for Woodland companions and the like if we get a surplus of them.--Clark (Chitter Chat) 14:46, 20 June 2015 (EDT)
- Alright, sounds good. I know we don't have many Woodland Companions at the moment but we do have a few. While on the topic, do you guys think we should make a full page for Pause's Deer companion, "Robert Moran", from The Nuren Campaign? He was only alive for a few moments so there's not really a ton of information about him but we should mention him somewhere. Plus with the addition of the 3 pot puppies from The Jewel of the Dingo Isles and Deadbones pet wolf in the upcoming Many Gobos of Pat campaign we're getting more and more pet characters. Should we just have an Elemental Sprite page, a Woodland Companion page, and a Pet characters page? --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 18:11, 20 June 2015 (EDT)
