Character Page Layout

Hey guys, a few days ago Skydivizer made a suggestion to clean up the Character Pages to adhere to a unified and simpler "template"/style, because right now we've got different styles for the character pages from the Nuren campaign, RBoT, Porc Hunters and Dingo Isles. I recommend you check out his proposal, because I would like to have some more feedback about. Personally I find it better than what we've got now (because do we really need to list their race and class again when that's already in the charbox and the short description up above, and do we really need to say what Charge or Parry does on every users character page while there's a link to the ability -once again- in the charbox?). I just want to hear what you guys think about this. --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 10:45, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

I think it's pretty good. I also think having the race and class reiterated a second/third time on the page is unnecessary especially since it's usually in the first line and the charbox. I think the reason we were putting the description of each ability on every page was because we started doing that before the anchors were in place to let us link directly to ability itself and not just the class page and we just didn't stop after we got the anchors. However, I think the belongings are good the way they are currently with a category for Items, Treasures, and RP Item since that information may need to be more detailed for characters who gain and destroy/loose a lot of treasure over the course of a campaign like Jo Krisstal. I think we should keep the final stats of the characters, like their items and how much stamina they can have in the charbox while information regarding on how those stats changed throughout the campaign should be on the page itself. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Moderator) 11:14, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
I personally would only list gear that was received/changed after the campaign started (Kinney's Studded armor, Kinney's Freeboot coat's), 'Artefact' Treasures (Winechesters Finest, McCoy's Behemoth Arm, Lieutenant Surge,...) and the Accessories, because those have some Role-Play value eg. McCoy's Compasses or other items that have some RP-relation (Merci's Porc Skin Armor), since the starting gear usually isn't that interesting (Flintlock pistol, cutlass,...). What I'm saying is I would only list special or interesting items/treasures/accesories/belongings. --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 12:17, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

Spoilers

This is pretty minor, but can we agree to only mark pages about the most recent campaign as spoilers? I don't want to over use it so people who are new to the series are afraid to read pages about previous campaigns. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Moderator) 11:26, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

Yeah, I was going to post a topic about this pretty soon as well, I don't really like the way the spoiler template was used so randomly around here. I agree that only pages about the most recent campaign should have a spoiler tag, but I would limit it to the campaign page, character pages and location pages. For example, Pot puppies and Glamour shark don't need this template in my opinion, because really the only way you'd get there is by following links on the afore mentioned pages. --Razorhead (Leave me a note) 12:10, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
I agree. Race, Class, and Card pages should never be marked as spoilers. Basically if it's under "The Game" on the sidebar it shouldn't be marked as a spoiler. If everyone agrees I'll add it to Wiki Rules --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 13:27, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
I agree as well. New Characters and Campaigns should be marked with a spoiler tag. But as soon as Friday comes with character creation and the Behind the Scenes, they should be removed. --Clark (Chitter Chat) 23:13, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

List of Minor Characters

As it stands now, we have a page for every character mentioned on the show. I propose we make a page for a list of minor characters that were ONLY mentioned. Such as McCoy's 'Grandfather' Ethan and Mike Jackson (I take blame for that one). What I suggest is that these minor characters should be moved to one page, like the List of Organizations page. This will reduce clutter as the show expands to mention more and more characters we never see as the weeks go on.--Clark (Chitter Chat) 23:17, 15 June 2015 (EDT)

Sounds like a good idea. I think it should only be for characters who are mentioned but never seen, like the examples above. I think they should be sorted by campaign unlike the List of Organizations. The List of Organizations is already a bit cluttered and I feel like a few of the things on that page already don't belong. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 23:45, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
Like what exactly? Note that I purely created that page from inspiration for the Super Mario wiki, which has a similar page. So I am all for changing how it is to fit our style, or rather make our style. We should treat both the List of Organizations and List of Minor Characters the same way, that way there is a sense of unity. If that makes sense. So what are your suggestions?--Clark (Chitter Chat) 23:54, 15 June 2015 (EDT)
A few "Organizations" could use their own page. While we have relatively little information about organizations like the Cult of Bones, Bopen's army, the George clan, and Gwyneth's Sunblades, we have very clear information about groups like the Theta Squad, the crew of the Bocoe, and Yumi's Theives. Each of those groups could have their own pages detailing former and current members, history, battles, etc. --Petertwnsnd (Message a Mod) 00:41, 16 June 2015 (EDT)
