This is a list of rules for the wiki as decided upon by the active Moderators and Administrator. This is very much a work in progress. If you have any suggestions for new rules please submit them in the Discussion Tab.

This page is a general guideline to follow whilst posting to the wiki. It also serves as a guide to moderators so they can help the wiki become better. It is important to note that exceptions can be made to these rules if it generally makes sense. Common sense will always prevail over mindless deletion/banning. If you have a problem with one of these rules feel free to contact one of our Moderators: You can check the list of all current moderators here
The current list of active Moderators is:

Editing

Feel free to contribute! You are allowed to contribute to almost every page on the wiki! Other than a few protected pages (like this one) all pages are open to contribution from users.

Reverting

Reverting is a little too powerful sometimes. Don't succumb to the temptation, unless you're reverting very obvious vandalism. If you really can't stand something, revert once, with an edit summary something like "I disagree strongly, I'll explain why in talk." and immediately take it to the Discussion tab for the page in the top left hand corner.

Deleting content

As a good rule of thumb, any content you delete off a page you should make sure is presented somewhere else or in another format. If an entire page seems unnecessary you can message one of our Moderators and they can delete it if appropriate.

Vandalization

Do not vandalize the wiki. In other words, no edits with the intent of deleting truthful information or generally spamming wiki pages.

Discussion

Each page has a discussion tab in the top left hand corner of the screen. If you have a problem with some part of the page or would like to discuss its content feel free to create a topic on these pages. Please use the appropriate Talk page for each subject.

Admin ToDo

If you would like to talk about something put there isn't an appropriate Discussion page for it please use the Admin ToDo page to address it.

Addressing Other Users

Do not attack other users. Do not call them an "idiot" even if it feels justified. Instead, explain what they did wrong, why it is wrong, and how to fix it. If possible, fix it yourself. However, if necessary, you can contact a moderator and they will help sort it out.

Canon

It is important to keep in mind that unless we see something happen in a campaign, it is conjecture and not officially canon. For example, a character might say information about another race, however until we see that proven right that character's comment is not establishing World Lore. In addition, anything said or shown in Behind the Scene videos or streams about what was intended for past campaigns or what we might see in the possible future is also not canon. If you have a question about whether something said is canon or not please feel free to ask a moderator.

Conflicting Canon

If something said or done seems to conflict with pre-established canon, please do not bother the players or Rob, about it. Due to the very nature of Unforgotten Realms Live things can change quickly and are often made up on the spot. As Rob has pointed out, basically any continuity can be explained away with "A Wizard did it". Please keep this in mind and don't argue with the Game Master.

Fan Fiction

We'd like to keep the wiki clean of any fan lore etc. Whilst fan art (with author permission) is okay to post in their relevant sections, for the purpose of ensuring the wiki is accurate so that Rob can use the information in future campaigns if need be, we need to ensure the content is kept accurate.

Fan Art

Fan Art may be uploaded to the wiki is properly credited in the summary. However, fan art may only be displayed on the Gallery page for each page. You can find the link to a character, player, or campaign's Gallery on the bottom of their "Infobox" on the right hand side of the screen. If there is no Gallery yet for the page you want you can create one yourself. If you need help creating a gallery, please feel free to leave a message in the Discussion Tab.

Fan Made Cards

While the creation of fan made cards is encouraged over on the Card Builder page, unless used in an official campaign, users are not allowed to upload their creations here. If you wish to share your creations with others we suggest checking out The Buffalo Wizards subreddit.

Templates

We have a bunch of great Templates made by our users to help in the creation and modification of pages. Here's a list of list of some of them:

To use any of these templates just copy and paste the code previewed on the left side of those pages and paste it on the page you would like to use it on. Then you just have to fill in the blanks. If you have any questions on how to use these or a suggestion for a new one you can contact User:Petertwnsnd or any of our other Moderators.

We also have a bunch of fantastic Navboxes to help link pages together. We have ones for each of the Campaigns as well as ones for the players. Here's a list of a few:
Campaigns

Players

To add these navboxes to an article simply put the name of the template between a { and } bracket at the very bottom of the page. If you have any questions on how to use these or a suggestion for a new one you can contact User:IronClark or any of our other Moderators.

Spoilers

The latest campaign will be considered spoilers and marked as such until all episodes have aired on YouTube and Episode 0 of the next campaign is released. If you come across a page that should be marked as spoilers but isn't you can add the Template:Spoilers at the top of the like this:

{{Spoilers}}

Stubs

If a page is really short and has almost no information on it then it is refereed to as a Stub. Feel free to add as much relevant information to that page as you can. If you come across a page that should be marked as stub but isn't you can add the Template:Stub at the top of the like this:

{{Stub}}

Redirects

Mainly for moderators of the wiki, do not redirect the pages listed on the MediaWiki:Pages_To_Not_Redirect page. However, certain pages must not be redirected due to them tying in with widgets on the wiki. If they get redirected they will cause those widgets to no longer function and as such any redirection that is required should be posted to the Admin_ToDo.
