What is the point?

What is the point of keeping track of the "timeline"? We have yet to had any story take place prior to a past campaign. Every week's campign takes place after the previous week's campaign so what's the point of this "timeline"? --Petertwnsnd (talk) 13:43, 12 June 2015 (EDT)

To be honest, right now I think it's pretty useless. But perhaps when backstories get more fleshed out this page will become more useful? --Razorhead (talk) 14:19, 12 June 2015 (EDT)
I agree. If we ever get a campaign that is clearly established to take place prior to a previous campaign then a page like this will come in handy and we can bring it back/make a new page then, however at the present it doesn't useful or helpful and should just be deleted. --Petertwnsnd (talk) 14:26, 12 June 2015 (EDT)
I second that Peter. The page, at this time, is rather useless since the campaigns have been straight forward. But in later months, campaigns and Coe's Quest will require a timeline eventually--Clark (Chitter Chat) 14:29, 12 June 2015 (EDT)
Alright, then can one of you Moderators delete it? --Petertwnsnd (talk) 15:15, 12 June 2015 (EDT)
Can moderators delete pages or do I need to ask Plornt? --Petertwnsnd (talk) 12:25, 13 June 2015 (EDT)
Mods can delete pages yeah, uh I mean though, if we're going to use this in the future doesnt it make sense to keep it but just not link to it as a useful page yet? I mean it was established that they definitely are going to go back to the same places as different characters/different times?
At this point, all the page says is "The Jewel of the Dingo Isles takes place after Porc Hunters, Porc Hunters takes place after Roamin's Band of Thieves,"etc. It's completely redundant and doesn't any new information to the wiki. Heck, this talk page has more on it than the article itself. Until we ever see a situation where a campaign takes place in the "past" this page is completely useless and there's a chance that we will never have a campaign in the "past" in the first place. Going back to a place doesn't mean it takes place before the original time we saw the place, if we ever go back to someplace it will most likely be after the events we've already seen, especially since, from a role play stand point if they went "back in time" the story would be more limited because the end of that campaign would have to lead to the events of the one we already saw. If they ever went back to Gwyneth's village before the events of Roamin's Band of Thieves we'd know that she, Dave, and the village aren't in any real danger no matter how powerful the guys are because she's already been in Roamin's Band of thieves AFTER that and she was fine. Between the lack of information and the fact that this whole page hinges on if Rob decides to use a difficult mechanic in a future game this page has no purpose. If at some point in the future Rob DOES establish that a campaign will/did take place before a previous campaign then we simply recreate the 4 lines of text on this page and I'll even update the Campbox. --Petertwnsnd (talk) 12:42, 13 June 2015 (EDT)
  • I think you should leave this because I can tell you now that unless there is a DIRECT link that one event takes place after the other, it's up in the air. Week 2 had a direct link and Week 3 had a lucky direct link that without could have easily gone anywhere. Since this is something we don't plan on fitting, it would helpful for fans to work on figuring out the timeline for us to naturally adopt unless we have some other plan. Canon

Where does Unforgotten Realms (Show) take place on the timeline? Dishcat3 (talk) 15:46, 13 June 2015 (EDT)

It doesn't. Rob has said it is noncanon. --Clark (Chitter Chat) 15:51, 13 June 2015 (EDT)
Source? Please. Dishcat3 (talk) 18:20, 13 June 2015 (EDT)
It's none Cannon. Rob (talk) 01:32, 17 June 2015 (EDT)
